Chairman of the Indonesian Ulema Council (MUI), Ma'ruf Amin (center), along with a number of representatives of Islamic organizations giving a statements related of the activities of Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender (LGBT) in the MUI office, Jakarta, Wednesday, February 17, 2016. In a statement, MUI and a number of Islamic organizations agreed to declare the rejecting all forms of propaganda, promotion and support for the legalization and development of LGBT in Indonesia, as well as supporting the government to ban the entry of foreign funds earmarked for the campaign, socialization or support of LGBT in Indonesia are carried out by any party, including from international organizations and companies. Moreover, MUI also encourage the process of legislation which contain a ban on the activities of LGBT and has established it as a crime, rehabilitation measures for predisposed persons deviant sex in order to get back to normal, and penalize any person who invites, promote, defray and carry out the activities of LGBT in Indonesia.
