18,000여 개의 섬으로 이루어진 나라 ‘인도네시아’. 바닷가에 사는 인도네시아인들에게 어업과 그를 통해 얻는 생선, 새우, 가재, 오징어, 미역 등 해산물은 이미 삶의 일부분과 같다.
인도네시아는 단순히 해양국가로서뿐만 아니라 다채롭고 이색적인 문화가 살아 숨쉬는 곳으로도 잘 알려져 있다. 그 독특한 문화 가운데 하나는 바로 지난 13일, 북부 자카르타의 무아라 앙께 마을에서 펼쳐진 ‘Nyadran’이다.
‘Nyadran(냐드란)’은 자바섬 전역의 어부들에 의해 매년 열리는 데, 삶의 터전인 바다를 향해 풍요로움과 가호를 바라는 한국의 ‘고사’와 같은 행사이다.
행사는 어부들과 그들의 가족이 갖가지 장식품으로 꾸민 배를 함께 무리지어 타고 근처 바다를 항해하는 방식으로 진행된다.

In the event, they voluntarily collect agricultural produce into a boat replica, commonly called “Sesaji”, then the replica is taken out to sea, hereinafter together they swam to the boat replica to fight a number of agricultural products in it such as, fruit , vegetables, beverages, chickens and buffalo head.
