새들의 천국 인도네시아가 위험하다 > 포토뉴스

지난 5일 자카르타 조류 시장에서 한 상인이 물건을 나르고 있다. 세계 조류 종의 10분의 1 이상이 사는 ‘새들의 천국’ 인도네시아가 광범위한 산림 개발로 인해 위험에 직면하고 있다. 전 세계 1만여 종의 조류 중 1,594종이 이곳에 살고 있으며 고유종만 381종이다. 조류보호단체 바룽 인도네시아에 따르면 조류 서식지가 파괴되어 일부 종들이 멸종위기에 직면하고 있다.  

 

THREAT FOR RARE BIRD SPECIES IN INDONESIA

According to the results of survey data from Traffic  (one of the non-governmental organization (NGO) that monitors the trade of wild animals and plants based in the UK) which surveyed three largest bird market in Jakarta, namely, Jatinegara, Pramuka and Barito on July 21 to 23, 2014, the result is that there are 19.036 birds of 206 species were traded in the third market, with 51 species are endemic or native to Indonesia and 8 out of 51 of these species, threatened entered in the red list of the International Union for Conservation of Natur or endangered.
