A number of leaders of religious councils represented by (from left), Uung Sendana (Confucianism), Romo Siswantoko (Catholic), Yusnar Yusuf and Najamudin Ramsil (MUI / Islam), and Suhadi Sendjaya (Buddhists) held a press conference related to views on the issue of Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, and Transgender (LGBT) in the office of the Indonesian Ulema Council (MUI), Jakarta, Thursday, February 18, 2016. Leaders of the religious councils agreed to reject all forms of propaganda, promotion, and support towards the legalization and development of LGBT in Indonesia, because it is contrary to the principles of religion.
