터키 정부가 최근 쿠데타 시도의 배후로 지목된 재미 이슬람학자 펫훌라흐 귈렌과 연계된 인도네시아 내 교육기관 9곳의 폐쇄를 인도네시아 측에 요구하는 등 궐렌에 대한 압박을 강화하고 있다. 꼼빠스 등 현지 언론에 따르면 주인도네시아 터키 대사관은 지난달 29일, 성명을 통해 궐렌과 관련된 인도네시아 내 교육기관 9개의 이름을 명시하며 인도네시아 정부의 협력을 촉구했다. 그러나 여전히 교육기관의 삭생들은 일상적인 생활으로 이어나가고 있는 것으로 나타났다. 한편, 무하지르 에펜디 인도네시아 교육문화부 장관은 이와 관련해 "사실관계를 파악 중"이라면서 "터키 측 주장대로 이 교육기관이 실제로 FETO와 연계된 것으로 밝혀질 경우 즉각 조처할 것"이라고 말했다.
