CONDEMNATION OF THE SHEIKH NIMR EXECUTION > 포토뉴스

A number of demonstrators rallied denounced the execution of Sheikh Nimr in front of the Embassy of Saudi Arabia, Jakarta, December 4, 2015. The demonstrators demanded the Saudi government to stop all persecution of political prisoners, urging the United Nations (UN) to immediately conduct an investigation on human rights violations and crimes against humanity in Saudi Arabia, as well as prosecute Saud regime in International human rights court. Sheikh Nimr is a Shia Muslim figures and activists whose fight for justice reform for the people of Saudi Arabia. He was arrested and tried by the Saudi government in 2014 with accusations against the monarchy and sentenced to death, whose execution has been carried out on January 2, 2015 ago. Besides come under criticism, the execution also cause the Iranian government, whose majority of the population are Shia Muslims, broke diplomatic relations with the government of Saudi Arabia.
